About ME

About Me

As a candidate for West Orange Township Council, it is important that I introduce myself and explain the background that gives me confidence in my ability to help lead West Orange forward.

I received my ministry credentials from the Church of God in Cleveland, TN, in 1990. Although I accepted the Lord and His word at an early age, it wasn’t until some years later, while serving in the U.S. Navy, that I committed to living by that truth.

I am the founder and pastor of Jesus, Others, Yourself (J.O.Y.) Church of God in West Orange, NJ. Me and my family have lived in West Orange for 27 years, during which time I served in various roles for the community, such as:

West Orange Human Relations Commission Chair

West Orange Police & Clergy Alliance

West Orange Civilian Review Board Chair

West Orange Juvenile Justice Committee Chair

West Orange School District Certified Substitute

West Orange Mayor’s Program for the Uniquely Gifted

I have also been involved in organizational leadership in the public & private sectors for over 38 years and have degrees in (BAIS-Psychology, FDU) and (MACM-Leadership, PTS). Most importantly, I have been blessed to be married for 42 years to my first true love, Lady Lisa Adams, and have the honor of parenting Kandace, Douglas 2nd, and his wife, Christel, and four wonderful grandchildren.

My connection to this town runs deep, and I hope to continue the work of improving this community when you help elect me to the Town Council. Of course, a this can not properly convey the entirety of my background, message, and vision for this community. So please feel free to contact me through either my phone (973) 518-2615 or my email at [email protected]

MY VISION

Focus on Constructive Dialogue to Improve Our Community

West Orange politics can seem chaotic and divisive. My goal is to foster a constructive dialogue between the Mayor, Council, and Citizens of our community. To do this we must promote and ensure transparency in our dialogue by improving the Townships information outlets.

Build new Innovative Pathways for Uniquely Gifted Residents and Their Families

West Orange already has one of the most inclusive communities in the state for Uniquely Gifted Residents and their families. I believe it is imperative that we improve upon this strength by enacting measures such as appointing a uniquely gifted advocate to network with families and individuals in order to build a bridge forward and advocate on their behalf.

Ensuring Our Natural Gifts are Preserved and Improved

Our town is home to many natural and man made wonders that make West Orange unique. From the South Mountain Reservation to the Eagle Rock reservation, these sites provide a healthy way for our children to play and develop a love of nature. To further this point, I will work towards ensuring that Rock Spring and Crystal Lake are Preserved and Improved for Our Next-Generation

Medical Malpractice Claims

Emphasize your medical malpractice expertise. Explain how you assist individuals who have suffered harm due to medical errors or negligence by healthcare professionals. Highlight your ability to investigate medical malpractice cases, work with medical experts, and seek compensation for injuries and medical expenses.
